Define a Zone

Defining a zone includes naming the building resources that you want to schedule. Typically, this resource is a room or floor. Zones offer you the option to individually control different parts of your building. If the zone requires simple controlling (On/Off), you can add points in the Command Table expander and have those points controlled based on the mode of the zone.

You must create a zone before creating event definitions for the zone.

  1. System Manager is in Engineering mode.
  1. In System Browser, select Application View.
  2. Select Applications > Schedules > APOGEE Zones.
  3. The Apogee EQS tab displays.
  4. From the Zone Editor, open the Settings expander.
  5. Enter values in the fields.
  6. Click Save .
  7. In the Save object dialog box, select a destination for saving the zone:
    • Network. Click the drop-down arrow, and select the network.
    • Device. Click the drop-down arrow and select the device where the zone will reside. The Field Panel field in the Settings > Definition section is updated with the selected device name.
NOTE: You cannot edit this entry once the zone is saved.
  8. Click OK.
  9. The zone displays in System Browser under APOGEE Zones.
NOTE: Because the saved item is sent to the field panel which then communicates the save back to the system, there may be a delay from when you click OK and the item displays in System Browser.
  10. After the zone is created, you can do the following:
    • Copying a Zone, Event, or Replacement Day Schedule
    • Adding a Schedule to a Replacement Day
