Configure the XNET Driver for GCNET/VNT
- System Manager is in Engineering mode.
- When working on a FEP station, the drivers folder must be available in System Browser. You can create it using New
.
- In System Browser, select Management View.
- Depending on whether the driver runs on the server or FEP station, select one of the following:
- Project > Management System > Servers > Main Server > Drivers
- Project> Management System > FEPs > [FEP] > [drivers folder] - In the Object Configurator, click New
, and select New XNET Driver.
- In the New Object dialog box, enter a description.
NOTE: The Description must be different from that of any other driver on the server or FEP stations. - Click OK.
- The newly created driver is automatically selected in System Browser.
- In the XNET tab, open the Driver Settings expander.
- In node address of management station, enter the value assigned to Desigo CC in the panel configuration tool as the Management System Node.
- Select the VNT enabled check box.
- Enable the Time Synchronization (recommended): click Enable, and enter the synchronization Interval (min), default is 1440 (24 hours).
NOTE: The time synchronization also occurs automatically when you manually adjust the clock time on the Desigo CC management station or upon daylight saving time switches. - Click Save

NOTE: The communication Port is set to 1977 (read-only). - Open the Control Settings expander.
- If necessary, and instructed by technical support, adjust the following communication parameters:
- Command timeout (msec), default is 30000.
- Shutdown timeout (msec), default is 10000.
- Monitor interval (msec), default is 10000.
- Reconnection interval (msec), default is 20000.
- Max number of events, default is 1500.
- Alert update rate, default is 100 events/sec. - Click Save
.
- In the Extended Operation tab, in Manager Status, click Start, to fully activate the driver, or click Start Conf… (start in configuration mode), to run the driver without activating any real connection to the field.
- If other XNET drivers exist, select them one after the other in System Browser, and repeat the step above to start all drivers.
